Charity
Charity status
As a Charity we also see our mission to use our musical skills for the benefit of others.
We have sung in a number of different venues – from Southgate Tube Station and a number of local Church Halls to the Dugdale Centre in Enfield, often in aid of a specific charity. We have also been invited to sing in the foyer of Chase Farm Hospital and we hope to arrange this in the near future. Whether we are raising money for a local charity or merely bringing a little music into people's lives we feel this is very worthwhile.
Worthwhile causes
Close to home

Further afield and home again
As well as local charities we have also supported causes further afield. Over the years our annual ‘Singaway Weekend’ has taken us to Norwich, Ipswich, Peterborough, Kenilworth and Cirencester where we have given 'free entry' concerts and taken donations for local charities nominated by the venue.
Some of our members are involved with specific charities and we have often supported them with additional activities and donations.
Annually we turn one of our rehearsals into a Coffee and Cake session, raising quite substantial sums of money for Macmillan Cancer Support. This is a charity very close to the hearts of many members and it is always well supported and a very sociable event.

As a 'Social Service'
Our 'charity' remit does not always involve raising money. We provide a 'social service' for all those that join us. For some younger members we are the chance to escape from family and domestic commitments and indulge in some 'Me time'. For some older members who may live alone, having a reason to go out, meet friends and have a jolly good sing is one of the highlights of the week.
In times of economic hardship, in exceptional cases,we have used our discretion (and funds) to support members who struggle to find the full subscription to continue singing with us. We feel that the benefits of choir membership and 'choral singing' are particularly important for those who may be struggling.
