Our Concerts
We usually perform 5 concerts a year at various venues in and around the Enfield area. One concert usually in the Spring, will include a major choral work with supporting professional soloists. The summer concert(s) will be of a lighter nature (including special arrangements of popular songs) and are often themed eg Songs of the Silver Screen or Sounds of the Sixties. And of course the Christmas concert(s) will provide a range of seasonal music accompanied by a small professional orchestra.
In addition over the years we have ‘Sung Away’ – either on Weekend breaks in towns around the country or nearer to home on 'Awayday' concerts, often in support of a particular charity.
Our next concert
I have always enjoyed music and been to many professional concerts. When my partner 'dragged me along' to be in the audience of a Rowantree summer concert I was a little hesitant – but I was completely bowled over. The variety of pieces and the different arrangements were brilliant and it was obvious that everyone singing was thoroughly enjoying it - and so was the audience. Over the years, I have seen a huge variety of Rowantree concerts – from classical choral to 'popular'. I don't have any favourites – they are all good in their different ways. I sometimes wish I could sing well enough to join in.
